The Western Slope Honor Flight was initially organized under the national organization, for the purpose of flying Veterans from the Western Slope of Colorado to and from the memorials absolutely FREE!
Once they arrived in the Washington, D.C. area, a charter bus transported each of the Veterans to the various memorials. After 60 years of waiting, they were able to see what was built to honor them!! Past honor flight Veterans have visited, taken photographs, but mostly reminisced about and remembered fallen comrades.
Flights, meals, t-shirts, overnight lodging & motor coach transport services are provided at no cost to the participating Veteran. The program's top priority is to transport our nation’s most senior heroes & terminally ill Veterans of all wars/conflicts (WWII, Korea, Vietnam). The program then transitioned to transporting Korean and Vietnam Veterans who have never visited their memorial.
